About
Kaila Fluss is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals cultivate healing, resilience, and meaningful change. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University.
Kaila's professional journey began working in neurofeedback and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinics, where she developed an appreciation for the organic, scientific foundations of understanding mental health. Since then, she has expanded her expertise to include trauma-informed, holistic approaches that recognize the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. She is passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and identity while fostering self-compassion, authenticity, and growth.
Kaila takes a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Gestalt therapy to meet each client's unique needs. She believes healing is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, compassion, and trust. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, she helps clients process difficult experiences, deepen self-awareness, and move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Outside of the therapy room, Kaila enjoys singing jazz, dancing, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She believes that connection, creativity, and joy are essential parts of a balanced life and encourages her clients to embrace the activities and relationships that help them feel grounded, authentic, and fully themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I’m ready for counseling or coaching?
You might be ready for counseling or coaching if you’re feeling stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore, noticing the same worries or conflicts coming up again and again, or sensing that you can’t keep doing it all on your own. Many people reach out when their stress, anxiety, or relationship struggles start to affect sleep, work, or the way they show up with people they love. You don’t have to be in crisis to begin—feeling curious about change, wanting support, or simply wondering “Could this help me?” are all good signs you’re ready to start.
What’s the difference between counseling and coaching?
Counseling is typically focused on healing, processing emotions, and working with mental health concerns, and it can often be supported by insurance. Coaching is more future-focused and action-oriented, helping you set goals, build skills, and create change in specific areas of life. Both offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to grow, and many tools—like mindfulness, values work, and practical strategies—overlap between them.
How do fees, insurance, and payments work?
Kaila is an insurance-friendly provider offering counseling services covered by many panels. Check here to see about your particular insurance. Coaching is an out-of-pocket investment. We recommend contacting your carrier to verify specific behavioral health benefits and mental health coverage details.
